1. ‘ScreamFree Parenting Course’ for Parents
Developed in the United States by renowned family therapist Hal Runkel, the ScreamFree Parenting book hit the New York Bestseller List for many weeks. ScreamFree Parenting is a parenting course that focuses on the parents. Kids’ number 1 ‘scream’ at parents are basically, “Dad, mum, I need you to be a better leader to parent me!” ScreamFree addresses this common imbalance in a parent-child relationship by countering widely misunderstood parenting principles. It also discusses application of ‘ScreamFree Strategies’ to address parent-child conflicts in manners that does not destroy relationship and the child’s esteem.
The ScreamFree concept is both simple to grasp and practical to apply, but excitingly challenging for parents to live up to it. For parenting calls for us to become leaders with integrity, exercising the muscles within us to attain calmness and availability in our relationship with our child.
Trained by Hal Runkel himself, Leo is a certified ScreamFree Parenting Coach.
This session can be delivered in a full day session, over 2 half days or over 4 x 2hr sessions. At the end of the course:
- Parents would have a good understanding of ‘ScreamFree Parenting Principles’ to strengthen relationship with child.
- Parents would understand their child’s personality and inborn traits through mapping exercises to gain insights on how to build child’s self esteem and potential.
- Parents would become aware of commonly misunderstood parenting principles and parenting pitfalls to avoid.
- Parents would learn various ‘ScreamFree Strategies’ to work with their child i.e. using consequences with choices, identifying children’s space and boundaries, using structures to influence child etc

2. ‘Parenting in an Internet Age’ for Parents
Parenting is never an easy job. Coupled with the rapid global development brought about by the internet, it is made even more challenging. For the first time in history, youths are more ‘streetwise’ than their parents. They maneuver through IT landscapes effortlessly, retrieve infinite information, assess latest media craze, ideas, trends and news. Along with the gain of good knowledge, questionable influences and lures that threaten to compromise the values of the young generation emerge as well. With this information explosion and lure of unbridled freedom online, how has parenting changed? What resources do parents have and how can they play their role responsibly?
‘Parenting in an Internet Age’ is an interactive session where the focus in on learning ‘how to cope’ with the intricate problems surrounding computer gaming addiction. Most cyber wellness talks center on ‘what are the problems’ rather than ‘how to solve the problems.’ With our counseling expertise and experience working among gaming addicts, we will be able to share a framework to give you detailed insights towards uncovering your child’s issues and learning how best you can work with him on it.

4. ‘Straight Talk to Men (or Girls/Teens)’ for Students/Teens
A workshop for teens that re-examines their attitudes to sexuality and relationships. From what it means to be a man to what really constitutes true love, issues of sex, marriage, choices and consequences are explored in a heart to heart, deeply connecting way.

5. Understanding Adolescents
Understanding the world of your adolescent: the risks factors, stress triggers, challenges from family, community, school and themselves. Case studies and examples will be shared to help parents have a glimpse into the emotional world of teens. The mental health issues surrounding this age group, as well as how the mental health/problems of parents affect them, will be touched on too. Parents will also examine their own values, personality, thus parenting style and they have to decide how they can connect with their child, play a supportive role and to help them cope with exam and life stress. The importance and value of engaging professionals like counselors, parent coaches and family therapists to help, coach and guide to change the family system will be explored as well.

ScreamFree Conflict Resolution is based on principles of ScreamFree Parenting, a parenting course founded in the United States by acclaimed family therapist and author, Hal Runkel. With the focus primarily on parent-child conflicts, ScreamFree principles are applicable to other conflictual situations in school and at work as well. Today, kids’ number 1 conflictual ‘scream’ at parents are basically, “Dad, mum, I just need you to be a better leader to parent me!” ScreamFree addresses this relational conflict by challenging parents to become leaders with integrity, exercising the muscles within them to attain a scream free relationship with their child.
